Most existing basements in the Omaha and Lincoln area are dark, poorly ventilated, and not fit for a bedroom. Also, in order for a basement to have a bedroom, it is required by law to have a means of egress in case of a fire. Adding egress windows to your basement can be a great solution. An egress window can be any type of window as long as it’s size meets the minimum code. Adding a true additional bedroom to your house will also increase your homes value significantly, and make it more attractive to buyers should you try to sell it.
Whatever your reason, we can take care of it beginning to end. We handle any type of window and window well, so you can get the look and functionality that you want. We deal with all types of foundations; poured walls, block walls, brick walls, etc. We also insure that your window well has proper drainage to ensure that you do not have any water issues down the road. Our installations usually take a day to complete. Our process keeps dust and mess to a minimum on the interior, and leaves very minimal impact on your yard. If you already have a finished basement, we can also take care of any additional framing necessary, as well as trim and finish of your new window.
Doing egress windows is a big undertaking and a major alteration to your home. You are putting a big hole in your yard and a big hole in your foundation. An egress window, if not done properly, can give you unexpected problems in your basement. Clearly, we would love to take care of your project, but if you choose to go another route, make sure whomever you choose to do the project for you is knowledgeable and capable.

Old Block Window
Quick and Simple
Casement Window in Hearthstone home. This customer is adding a bedroom to their basement and needed an egress option. We installed an American Craftsman by Anderson window that met all of the required building codes for size. The window has a vinyl clad exterior that will stand up any additional water being below grade. All of our installs include tying into existing drain tile (if available) to guarantee no standing water in the well. We finished the install with a stepped window well to provide easy escape if needed. The whole install was completed in one day.
